Overview
The following overview aims to take you step by step through the process of becoming a presenter for the LIV.
- Register your interest by email cpd@liv.asn.au with your topic suggestions
- LIV Professional Development and Advocacy & Practice Solicitors will review proposals and assess whether content is relevant and appropriate
- LIV Program Developer will liaise with you to confirm
- Type of event (i.e. Legal Update, Conference Session etc)
- Date and time of event
- Marketing text and target practice areas
LIV Commitment
The Professional Development team provides all administration and coordination of the event, including:
- Venue – Law Institute of Victoria or external venue
- Catering
- Audio visual equipment
- Marketing:
- Brochures design, printing and distribution
- Advertising through mediums such as Friday Facts, CPD What's On hardcopy and e-newsletter, section emails and newsletters, LIJ listing and advertisements
- Hosting of event through the CPD website, giving practitioners access to online registration
- Delegate registrations: data entry and finance
- Event staffing
- Coordination of presenters and chairs
- Printing and distribution of seminar paper and any additional materials provided by the presenter
- Delegate access to teleconferencing
Speaker Commitment
- Provide the program developer with a brief overview and aim of your presentation
- Prepare your paper submitting it and any Powerpoint presentation and/or handouts to the event coordinator one week prior to your session
- Present your paper
- All speakers for the LIV are offered the opportunity to attend a complimentary seminar on ‘Delivering Effective CLE'
