At the 6th annual Legal Support Conference, keynote speakers will explore a range of topical issues as requested by past delegates. Topics include the impact of Personal Property Securities legislation, Ethics for the Legal Executive, Technology Tips for the productive law office, as well as Conveyancing, Costs and Succession Law updates.

Delegates will expand their skills and acquire knowledge that translates directly into firm successes and office productivity.

After the success of last year’s Towards Business Excellence Symposium, this year’s conference will be held concurrently with our 2012 Legal Symposium and Business Partner Trade Show at the Sofitel Melbourne. Networking breaks will provide opportunities for delegates to visit the Trade Show in order to further grow meaningful office skills that contribute directly to the successful law firm.

Presenter Bios

Adele Whish-Wilson, Social Media Consultant, LIV

Adele is LIV’s Social Media Consultant overseeing LIV's twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube channels. Adele has a strong background in strategic and innovative marketing as the co-founder and manager of an IT start-up which won several national and international awards, and attracted Telstra as a partner and sales channel. Adele has worked in the private, community and government space looking at ways that organisations can use technology to operate and communicate better, which was recognized through a finalist place in the Telstra Young Women’s Business Awards in 2004.

Donna Cooper is the Manager of the LIV’s Ethics Department. 

Donna has experience in private practice as well as government, and is Secretary to the LIV Ethics Committee.

Kriss Will, Managing Director of Kriss Will Consulting Pty Ltd

Kriss has a Master of Business Administration and an honours Arts degree (double major in Psychology). She has worked in professional services for over 20 years, holding in-house roles as an HR Manager, Marketing Manager and General Manager, and established her own management consultancy business in 1996. Kriss consults to law firms of all shapes and sizes and enjoys working with lawyers to create sustainable successful businesses.

Kyle McDonald

Before coming to the Bar, Kyle worked for 10 years as a senior prosecutor for Victoria Police, appearing in the Magistrates’ and Children’s Courts. His advocacy experience includes contested prosecutions for assaults, dishonesty offences, cross-border offences, drug offences, drink-driving and motor-traffic law, stalking and family violence. Kyle is particularly interested in the effect of information technology and computer-forensics in litigation and criminal law.

Michael Dolan is an Ethics Lawyer in the LIV’s Ethics Department. 

Michael has had a long career in the law, and now enjoys providing ethical advice to solicitors.

Robyn Sparks, Special Counsel, Aitken Partners, Accredited Specialist Wills and Estates

Robyn has almost 40 years’ experience as a legal practitioner, predominantly in the areas of Litigation and Wills & Estates. With Robyn's experience there is rarely an estate administration matter that she has not encountered before. She takes a practical hands-on approach in all her matters and is well equipped to understand and provide assistance on all issues at hand in cases in her area of expertise.

Simon Libbis, Accredited Property Law Specialist

Simon Libbis is the principal of Subdivision Lawyers. Prior to establishing this boutique legal practice he was Executive Director of the National Electronic Conveyancing Office which was a joint government and industry initiative to establish an electronic conveyancing system across Australia. As well as an extensive career as a specialist property lawyer Simon also served as the Registrar-General of South Australia for some years. He is the author of a number of publications including the loose-leaf services Subdivisions with the Lot and ConveyanceWorks.

Tim Greenway, Barrister, Victorian Bar

Tim has a broad practice and is available to appear in a variety of jurisdictions. Before coming to the bar, Tim was associate to the Honourable Justice Judd in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
