Matthew Harvey

Dr Philip Bender

As a barrister, Philip has been involved in various commercial disputes and appearance work in Federal and State Courts, as well as in VCAT and the AAT.  He has been involved in a number of contractual, property law/equity, and deceased estates disputes in the Supreme and County Court jurisdictions and in VCAT.  He has also run intellectual property and trade practices litigation in the Federal Court.

Reynah Tang

Partner, Melbourne, Corrs and President Elect of the Law institute of Victoria
Reynah commenced his career with Corrs as an articled clerk from 1993 to 1994. After a couple of years working for an international accounting firm in Singapore he returned to Corrs in 1996. Since then, he has been practising in the Corporate division specialising in all areas of corporate taxation.

His practice includes advising on tax issues associated with listed and unlisted mergers and acquisitions, public private partnerships, corporate reorganisations, property development, employee share and option schemes, and debt capital market raisings.

He has assisted clients with requests for private binding and class tax rulings, taxation enquiries and audits and federal and state tax litigation. In addition to income tax, Reynah regularly advises clients on GST and stamp duty issues associated with these transactions.

Reynah became a partner of Corrs in 2000. He completed his Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne in 2001. His thesis concerned the scope of judicial review and other remedies to control the exercise of powers by the Commissioner of Taxation.

Reynah regularly publishes articles and presents seminars on tax issues and, in January 2008, was elected to the Council of the Law Institute of Victoria.

Sharon (BA, LL.B) was admitted to practice in 1992 and signed the Bar Roll in 1998. Sharon has specialised in the practice of family law since her admission and practices in the family law jurisdiction (including de facto matters), appearing in pre-trial applications, trials and appeals.

Stephen Jurica

Stephen practices principally in common law and commercial litigation. Prior to coming to the Bar, Stephen practiced law in London in the Real Estate Finance team at DLA Piper LLP and the International Capital Markets group at Allen & Overy LLP. Stephen regularly appears in trials with senior counsel and accepts briefs Commercial Law, Personal Injury, Property, Building and Construction, Negligence, Criminal Law and Sports law. Tim Falkiner        

Tim is a former barrister retraining as a psychotherapist completing a Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling (Phoenix), a Certificate IV in Hypnotherapy (AHS) and a Diploma of Ego State Therapy. Tim is a member of the Australian Counselling Association. Tim believes the life crisis faced by offenders facing sentencing can be used, with the help of transpersonal and hypnotic techniques, to rapidly enable the willing offender to access the feelings and emotions necessary to effect fundamental, life-long growth.

Tim has written and presented extensively on alternative dispute resolution with strong emphasis on mediation, both locally and interstate.  He also conducts private training and coaching in mediation training courses for law firms, universities, LEADR and Global Mediation Services Ltd in Malaysia and Hong Kong.  He was also sub-editor and a contributor for “Mediation – A Guide for Victorian Solicitors”, a manual published by the Law Institute of Victoria.
