NATIONAL GOLDEN GAVEL COMPETITION

Join Justice Betty King of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Mark Holden from the Victorian Bar as they judge the National Golden Gavel Competition.
Don’t miss your chance to witness the winner from each State and Territory display their verbal skills, quick wit and humour in front of their colleagues, peers and an eminent panel of adjudicators as they go head to head to determine who will be crowned the 2011 National Golden Gavel champion.
Participants have just 24 hours to prepare their five minute presentation on a range of humorous topics. Past topics have included from “Marry me – I’m a lawyer!”, “I became a lawyer to help people,” and other lies I tell people at parties. Don’t miss your chance to be entertained by Australia’s best up and coming legal orators.
