About Criminal Law Section
The Criminal Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) seeks to represent its members on practical issues affecting the criminal justice system. It provides a forum for members to meet and exchange views with colleagues and members benefit from regular distribution of relevant practice information.
Objectives
- Represent Victorian criminal lawyers in relation to issues affecting them
- Consider criminal law issues affecting the community and create an awareness of them
- Liaise with the courts, the police and other bodies in the criminal justice system
- Provide information services and education programs to Section members
