About Family Law Section
Family Law is a rapidly changing area. The regular contact the Section has with the Courts and Government means members are kept informed of developments, which impact on their practice
Objectives
- Stimulate the interests and participation of family lawyers in the activities of the Law Institute
- Develop and conduct professional development programs for lawyers and the community in matters concerning family law
- Foster good relations and a better understanding between family law practitioners and other professionals involved in family matters, including the courts
- Conduct research programs and prepare reports for the Council
- Consider and recommend law reform
