About Government Lawyers' Section
The Government Lawyers' Section provides practical support and networking opportunities for legally qualified public sector employees in all levels of Government, such as government lawyers and legal and policy officers.
Objectives
The objectives of the Government Lawyers’ Section are to:

Provide a forum to meet and address issues of interest to legally qualified public sector employees

Raise the profile of legally qualified public sector lawyers generally

Provide CPD opportunities for legally qualified public sector employees

Advocate for changes to the Legal Profession Act for the benefit of public sector lawyers

Represent the interests of Victorian public sector lawyers in the move towards creating a national association of public sector lawyers
The Government Lawyers’ Section encourages new members to join. To qualify prospective members must be legally qualified public sector employees and LIV Members.
