Steps to Qualified Practice
Practical Experience Requirements
Approved practical experience for admission to the Supreme Court of Victoria can be gained via one of the following means:

The equivalent of one year, full-time experience as an articled clerk in a law firm; or

The equivalent of one year, full-time experience gained through Supervised Workplace Training (SWT)/Traineeship; or
-
The completion of an approved practical legal training course at the College of Law Victoria, the Leo Cussen Institute or Monash University.
Overseas practical experience
If you have overseas practical experience and wish to practise Australian law in Victoria, you should contact the Council of Legal Education for an assessment of your experience.
