Steps to Qualified Practice
Who can practise law in Victoria?
Section 2.2.2 of the Legal Profession Act 2004 (pdf) (“the Act”) also provides for certain entities or people, such as government lawyers, to engage in some type of legal practice without holding a practising certificate.
Local practising certificates can only be issued to an Australian Lawyer; i.e. a person who has been admitted to legal practice in an Australian jurisdiction.
