Administration Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the peak legal body representing Victorian lawyers. The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is a professional association with far reaching legal, community and political influence.

LIV Young Lawyers (YL) forms part of the Member Support Services Team. Its focus is on supporting the specific needs of law students, graduates and lawyers starting out in their careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work across Member Support to achieve the LIV membership objectives.
  • Administrative functions of committees including agendas, preparing materials for those meetings, minutes and distributing relevant correspondence and materials.
  • Responding to member inquiries and where necessary directing inquiries to internal experts.
  • In accordance with procedures and protocols, provide Find Your Lawyer Referral Service clients with referrals to law firms, legal services and information agencies. 

Knowledge & Skills

  • High level customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and literacy skills.
  • Good working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft products and databases.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sensitivity to, and understanding of, individual client needs.
  • Ability to respectfully manage challenging or distressed clients.

Auditor (Investigations)

The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the peak legal body representing Victorian Lawyers with far reaching legal, community and political influence.

The LIV's Compliance Department is responsible for monitoring and investigating Victorian legal practitioners' compliance with the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Vic) (Uniform Law), pursuant to delegations from the Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner (VLSB+C) under a service level agreement. 

The purpose of the Auditor (Investigations) role is to:

  • inspect and audit the trust records of law practices to identify risk, assess compliance with Uniform Law record keeping requirements, and determine the effectiveness of existing controls
  • investigate alleged breaches of the Uniform Law, including misappropriation of client monies and fraud, and prepare a brief of evidence to support the taking of disciplinary action or a criminal prosecution
  • educate legal practitioners about their trust account compliance obligations.

To be successful in this role, you will have forensic accounting, auditing and/or investigative experience, an excellent understanding of the trust accounting requirements under the Uniform Law, and an ability to quickly develop effective professional relationships with key stakeholders, including legal practitioners and the VLSB+C.

The position may also include project work from time to time, at the direction of the Manager Investigations.

Marketing Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the peak legal body representing Victorian lawyers. The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is a professional association with far reaching legal, community and political influence.

We are currently seeking an experienced and innovative Marketing Coordinator to join our Commercial Department. You will play a pivotal role in maximising awareness and engagement with all products and services of the LIV through our marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of the LIV's marketing plan and digital marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advise and execute on plans to help them achieve their KPIs.
  • Periodically reporting on outcomes of the effectiveness of executed marketing activities, including recommendations for improvements.
  • Liaise between the LIV and its external suppliers to support the executions of project and strategies.
  • Execute multi-channel campaign strategies across the organisation to maximise reach and effectiveness.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A record of achievement as a marketer (both a digital and non-digital) preferably gained in a services marketing role.
  • Demonstrated high level project management skills, along with the ability to prioritise, meet conflicting demands, achieve objectives and multi-task across several projects, teams and activities.
  • Highly developed reporting skills.
  • Experience using analytical tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Formal marketing or similar undergraduate qualifications.
  • Experience in the use of content management systems and bulk email platforms (Marketo preferred but not essential).

Sales Executive

  • Full-time/Part-time (four days per week)

The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the peak legal body representing Victorian Lawyers with far reaching legal, community and political influence.

The Sales Executive – Advertising plays a crucial role in generating advertising and sponsorship revenue for the LIV. The role is integral to the commercial success of the LIV as it will be selling pre-existing LIV property as well as working with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to creating new LIV properties to sell.

We are seeking a highly organised Sales Executive who has significant experience in high volume transactional sales. You will be a strong team player and be responsible for procuring sales through cold calling as well as through our databases. Your skills in understanding client needs and creating and building a customer base will assist you in achieving and exceeding targets monthly.
