Bookshop Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the peak legal body representing Victorian lawyers. The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is a professional association with far reaching legal, community and political influence.

We are currently seeking a Bookshop Assistant who will be responsible for serving customers and handling enquiries face to face and via telephone and email, as well as processing, packing, despatching and recording mail orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all customers receive prompt customer service and assistance at all times;
  • Provide regular sales reports to the Bookshop Manager;
  • Control all credits for all stock returned to suppliers;
  • Maintain the integrity of the Bookshops inventory by processing purchase orders, invoices and credits promptly and regulate delivery dockets;
  • Manage end of day sales report, banking and providing to the Finance Dept;
  • Maintain and update stock on the online bookshop including processing orders so they are posted to the; and
  • Place orders for stock replenishment.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven sales, customer service and complaint handling skills;
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a highly educated customer base;
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, confidence using databases;
  • Experience working in the retail industry. Bookshop experience is not essential, however will be highly regarded; and
  • Study or work experience in the legal profession will be highly regarded.

Learning and Development Advisor (Digital)

This is an exciting opportunity to work for the peak legal body representing Victorian lawyers. The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is a professional association with far reaching legal, community and political influence.

We are currently seeking a Learning and Development Advisor (Digital) who will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing a range of professional development products through a variety of digital mediums designed to meet the learning needs of legal practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of interactive online learning solutions to complement PD offerings, including development and launch of customised Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Design and development of contemporary training and assessment courseware material for new education projects using a range of modalities.
  • Facilitation and moderation of all e-learning solutions and programs.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to utilise e-learning technologies and software (for example, authoring tools and LMS).
  • Working knowledge of instructional design and e-learning tools and methodologies to develop content outlines, storyboards, and scripts for e-learning modules that incorporate a range of multimedia.
  • In depth understanding and application of adult learning principles.
  • Experience with online facilitation and knowledge development and delivery of online learning modules and training materials.
  • Project management expertise.
