    Personal injury law specialists and experienced practitioners, share your breakfast with leading Occupational Physician, Dr Robyn Horsley OAM, as she guides you through return to work management including the assessment of an injured person and their workplace, and the suitability of duties for a worker returning to work.
    Topics will include:

    • Making the most of a workplace assessment
    • What important information should you provide the Occupational Physician prior to an assessment?
    • What is ‘suitable employment’?
    • The importance of knowing your client and their educational and employment history.

    Occupational Physician and Specialist in Occupational Medicine and Musculoskeletal Medicine

    Dr Robyn Horsley OAM is a consultant Occupational Physician and the Founding Director and Principal of HDA Medical Group. She has extensive experience in Occupational and Environmental Medicine with a specific interest in Return to Work Management and Musculoskeletal Medicine.

    Dr Horsley has held a number of positions with the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) as part of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) over the years, including five years as Federal Councillor and four years as Federal Honorary Secretary. She was a member or the Federal Examination / Assessment subcommittee from 2002 until 2016 and convened the practical exit examination for trainee Occupational Physicians from 2006 until 2016.

    Dr Horsley has been involved with the Worksafe / TAC Quality Assurance Program, oversighting reports from independent assessors since 2002 and ongoing.

    Dr Horsley was a member of the Department of Veterans Affairs National Technical Advisory Committee from 2004 until 2015 and is currently involved with the Department of Veterans Affairs, as a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee looking at the Prevention and Management of Osteoarthritis in the lower limb in Defence personnel.

    Dr Horsley is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine Monash University. Dr Horsley was involved in lecturing medical students from 1991 – 2004 and has been a Tutor since 2005.  She continues tutoring medical students in Occupational Health at Monash University. She also mentors trainee Occupational Physicians

    Dr Horsley received the AFOEM President’s Award for Education and Teaching in 2010.

    Dr Horsley received an Order of Australia Medal in June 2012 for services to Occupational and Environmental Medicine and to Medical Education.

    Dr Horsley specialises in: Injury Management, Medico-Legal Assessments, IME Assessments, Toxicology Advice/Management, LMO liaison, Fitness for Duty Assessments , Health Surveillance, RTW Management, Worksite Assessments, Vaccination Advice, OH & S Audits.

    Admitted to practice in 1995, Craig Lynch is a Practice Group Leader at Slater and Gordon.Craig has been very actively involved with the Accredited Specialisation Program at the LIV since becoming a Personal Injury Law Specialist in 2001. He was a member of the Personal Injury Law Advisory Committee between 2003 and 2011, and has been a member of the Specialisation Board since 2007, including three years as Chair (2012-2014). Craig was awarded the LIV’s Accredited Specialist Achievement Award in 2011 and is currently the Attorney General’s nominee on the VCAT Rules Committee.
