    Are you an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law or an experienced practitioner in this area? Join us for a very special Year in Review event as we the unpack the key developments from the last 12 months and share knowledge that will set you up for the year ahead.

    Enjoy an evening with our expert speakers and hear and debate the updates in Criminal Law you need to know about. Following the session, you will have the opportunity to network with your peers over drinks and nibbles.

    The session will cover:

    • the practical consequences of two key changes arising out of the Justice Legislation Miscellaneous Amendment Act 2018 (Vic) namely:
      • Changes to the Criminal Procedure Act 2009 (Vic) in relation to ‘special hearing’ cases i.e. sex cases involving child or cognitively impaired adult complainants
      • Sentencing Act 1991 (Vic) amendments including emergency worker related reforms, changes to ‘special reason’ exemptions under section 10A and the introduction of Mandatory Treatment and Monitoring Orders.
    • Relevant bail cases heard since the significant changes to the Bail Act 1977 (Vic) in May and July 2018 as well as the operation of the Bail and Remand Court.  

    Attending this session will give you the opportunity to submit ‘questions on notice’ prior to the session and participate in a Q&A discussion with our expert speakers making this a valuable event for any senior practitioner.
