  • Full Description

Attended by hundreds of people each year, the LIV Legal Careers Fair is the premier event for Victorian students commencing a career in law. If you are a penultimate or final-year law student interested in obtaining seasonal and graduate employment, this is the perfect event to get your feet wet and help you find out what sort of jobs are available.

The Careers Fair will feature representatives from Australia’s leading law firms, government, regional firms and non-legal employers.

Don’t miss this free opportunity to network with key stakeholders during the height of your career planning.

  • What to Expect

    Mock Interviews

Final and penultimate year students will have the opportunity to take part in mock interviews with HR specialists and industry professionals. Sessions will be 15 minutes in length and will be available between 5.15pm and 7.45pm. Places are limited and only penultimate and final year students who bring a covering letter and resume will be eligible to participate.

We recommend that students bring both specific and general cover letters in the event that a preferred firm or organisation is not available. Subject to availability students may be able to choose which HR representative may interview them. Students will be provided with feedback on their covering letter and resume. They will also be asked some common interview questions and be provided with feedback on their responses.

Students cannot register in advance for mock interviews, but on the day they can book in for a mock interview at the LIV booth. For that reason we recommend students arrive early at the Careers Fair to avoid missing out on a mock interview.

    Careers Sessions

Included with entry is the opportunity to attend a Careers Fair seminar at either 5.30pm or 6.30pm. Each session will run for 45 minutes and feature panellists with diverse careers in the law. They will provide tips and advice about starting out as a graduate based on their own personal experiences and there will also be the opportunity to ask questions. Further information will be provided closer to the Careers Fair. Career Sessions are open to anyone on a first come first served basis, so there is no need to register.
