  • Full Description

A new year presents a fresh opportunity to reset, especially after another year of lockdown, where like many, you may have found yourself looking after your employees before yourself.

Our Leaders in Practice survey suggests "control over our time" (how much, and where we allocate it) is what practice owners need and crave most. Evidence of burnout and long hours is all too common. Is this the case for you, as well?

This webinar has been specifically designed to help you prepare for a new you in 2022, with your key priority being self-care. And to achieve that, you must take control of your time.

Before helping you create a plan to protect your time, facilitator Brent Szalay will encourage you to take a reflective glance back at the year it’s been to unearth where you spent your energy, on what tasks, and what bad habits may have blurred your boundaries and led you to "burn the candle at both ends".

You will learn how to proactively:

    1. Capacity plan – know your ability to delegate and ensure there’s ample wriggle room for growth
    2. Determine what’s ‘enough’ for you – enough money, enough enjoyable tasks, and enough time away from the office to regularly refresh
    3. Cut the crap – determin which tasks you can delegate, such as bookkeeping or admin; anything that’s not a valuable use of your expertise
    4. Leverage technology – automate questionnaires and send videos with advice to shorten meeting times
    5. Design your ritual – a routine that maximises your strengths
    6. Communicate your boundaries – your team need clarity on what you’re saying ‘no’ to

End the year on an optimistic high; join Brent Szalay and develop a plan that prioritises your own self care as 2022 gets into gear.

    About Leaders in Practice

The Leaders in Practice program provides holistic knowledge, resources, learning and a community that supports principals and partners of small firms to develop and progress their practice. Spending time working on the business versus in the business is always a challenge as you balance the relentless needs of leading a legal practice with the lifestyle you seek.

No longer do you need to go it alone in business. We understand the common hurdles that you face, such as not knowing how to hire the right people or what actions to take to grow. Leveraging the experience of experts, LIV has partnered with business advisory firm, SEIVA, to design and deliver this program to continually support you as a member, with the right tools, strategic advice, ongoing learning events and accountability sessions.

This monthly LIVeChat hosted by Brent Szalay will discuss key topics and timely business issues with guest presenters to build awareness and assist you in identifying any additional support you need.  Topics will include:

    • People, Clients & Culture
    • Brand and Marketing
