    Finding current and authorised versions of legislation can be a daunting task if you’re unsure of the right way to search.

    This session offers you the chance to learn from an experienced law librarian the best methods for locating authorised Victorian and Commonwealth legislation, including bills, explanatory memoranda, second reading speeches and more.

    The face-to-face workshop setting allows you to put your new skills into action, ensuring you are able to navigate government websites effectively and find information you may not previously have been aware of.

  • Presenter

    Tasia Mitsinikos, Training and Research Librarian, Law Institute of Victoria

    Tasia has worked in legal and specialist libraries, such as the Department of Justice, for 17 years. Her work at the LIV includes assisting members with research requests. She also conducts group and individual training sessions on different aspects of legal research, including case law and legislation.

  • Learning Outcomes

    At the end of this session you will be able to:

    • use the Victorian legislation and Commonwealth legislation sites effectively
    • track bills and second reading speeches
    • find authoritative and up-to-date legislation and commencement information.
