    Whether before or during litigation, a successfully mediated outcome will generally deliver you a happy client. Your client is satisfied because they don’t have to wait longer for an outcome, they have stopped incurring costs and because they can sleep at night without worrying about this dispute. And a happy client is your best source of referrals for future clients.

    In this session, we will look at:

    • How you can assist your client in preparing for the mediation
    • Techniques for productively advocating for your client in a mediation
    • Ways to use the mediator effectively

    About the Regional & Suburban Series

    The Law Institute of Victoria, in conjunction with Victoria's regional and suburban law associations, is please to offer the Regional & Suburban Series. This webinar series has been designed to deliver informative, practial and engaging CPD that covers issues specific to members who practise in regional and suburban Victoria. Though topics covered in some sessions may have broader relevance, and all practitoners are welcome to attend, content is specifically developed to ensurea regional and suburban context is applied. Program chairs also help to drive discussion that is relevant to regional and suburban practise.

    Nicole Davidson, Commercial Mediator, Nicole Davison Negotiation

    Nicole Davidson is a nationally accredited mediator who has mediated over 200 commercial disputes. She brings experience from over 20 years working as a lawyer, insolvency practitioner, investment banker and learning & development specialist to her mediation practice.  She is a panel member with the Victorian Small Business Commissioner, the Office of the Franchise Mediation Advisor and the Australian Disputes Centre.  Nicole has been teaching negotiation and conflict resolution skills since 2013 and has trained at Harvard’s Program on Negotiation.  Nicole provides mediation services across Victoria.
