  • Full Description

The Honourable Chief Magistrate Lisa Hannan recently said, “Justice hasn’t changed, just the mode of delivery.”

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Magistrates’ Court’s default position is that all pleas, sentence appeals, bail applications and bail variations will continue to be conducted via the Webex platform. With this platform having been in operation for a few weeks now, we have a timely opportunity to discuss what has been working and where opportunities lie as we adapt to coronavirus.

In this practical session, Magistrate Bourke and Luke Murray, Deputy State Coordinating Registrar, provide insights on ways to maximise the Webex platform. Following this, you will have the opportunity to hear from our panel, featuring The Honourable Chief Magistrate Lisa Hannan as they discuss Courts’ initiatives and answer your questions.
