    Presenter: Guillaume Bailin, Acting Program Manager, Indictable Crime, Victoria Legal Aid

    Guillaume Bailin is the acting program manager of Indictable Crime at Victoria Legal. Over the last 10 years, Guillaume has worked in a number of roles across the criminal justice system, including as senior associate to former Chief Judge Rozenes, as a solicitor advocate at the OPP and senior administrator to the Criminal Division in the County Court.

    Guillaume also lectures in criminal law at Monash University and is on the board of Monash Law Clinics and the Prison Legal Education & Assistance Project.      

    Presenter: Rishi Nathwani, Barrister, Victorian Bar

    Rishi is an experienced barrister from London who practised at the UK Bar for over 11 years. Rishi assisted the DOJ in rolling out the intermediary pilot programme in Victoria.

    In both the UK and here, he is routinely instructed in the most serious cases involving homicides, terrorism and serious sexual offences. He acts for Lawyer X at the royal commission.

    Presenter: Josh Taaffe, Director and In-House Counsel, Doogue + George Defence Lawyers; Accredited Specialist, Criminal Law

    Josh Taaffe is a specialist trial lawyer and the in-house counsel for the firm. He has more than ten years experience as a criminal lawyer and has been appearing in trials before judge and jury since 2009.

    Josh is a partner of the firm and is an accredited criminal law specialist. He appears in all Victorian Courts, at every level. He provides advice and representation for all criminal cases.

    Josh is also the deputy chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria.
