There has been a dramatic fall in the number of private sector workers covered by collective agreements across all industries, with a report by the Centre for Future Work recently finding that this number had almost halved between 2013 and June 2018. Today, only 12 per cent of private sector workers are covered by enterprise agreements. With collective agreements being a key mechanism for facilitating wage increases, the consequences of this erosion of collective agreement coverage are profound for workers, employers and the overall economy.

In this recording, expert presenters, including Fair Work Deputy President Gostencnik, provide insights on the current issues, challenges and trends in enterprise bargaining. They discuss why agreements are failing the BOOT on a practical level, the future of collective agreements and what these issues mean for your practice.
