Law Practice A act for the wife in Family Law Proceedings and allege that Law Practice B is conflicted in acting for the husband, as the solicitor at Law Practice B with carriage of the husband’s matter was the principal of Law Practice C when it drew the parties’ mutual wills.
Ruling
In the opinion of the Ethics Committee and on the information presented: 1. Law Practice B does not face a conflict of interest in acting for the husband in the current Family Law proceedings. 2. Law Practice B does not possess any confidential information, either personally or by imputation, of the wife that is material and relevant to the current Family Law Proceedings.
