More than 1100 practitioners took advantage of a three-day LIV workshop to earn compulsory CPD units before the 31 March cut-off.

Practitioners at the fourth annual LIV CPD Intensive Program mixed and matched the 24 substantive Law, ethics, professional skills and practice management units on offer to fulfil CPD obligations.

The event, held at the Sofitel, Melbourne from 3 to 5 March, provided a “one-stop-shop” for meeting the professional development skills requirements.

LIV Professional Development general manager Julie McCormack was enthusiastic about this year’s attendance.

“As a membership organisation we work hard to ensure everyone has the opportunity to meet their requirements and will continue to do so,” Ms McCormack said.

Speakers at this year’s event were key legal players, including consultants, legal firm principals, partners and guests from the Victorian Bar and Deputy Privacy Commissioner Dr Anthony Bendall.

Workshop topics included delegation skills, recent developments in anti-discrimination Law, financial agreements, insolvency, intervention orders and privacy Law.

Other topics covered areas such as preparing a file for estate litigation or VCAT hearings, ethics and legal professional privilege, conveyancing for builders and owners and practice management and business skills.
