The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) furthered its links with the Chinese legal profession by hosting a Beijing Bar Association (BBA) delegation last month.

This is the fourth time in the past two years that the LIV has met with delegates from China.

In May/June 2005 and in April this year it led delegations to China and in December 2005 it hosted a delegation from the Beijing Municipal Lawyers Association.

LIV CEO Mike Brett Young said the delegations allowed an opportunity for LIV members to access legal groups within China and were useful for the face-to-face feedback they provided.

Fourteen members of the BBA attended an informal luncheon and took part in discussions on trade and investment and intellectual property at the LIV on 2 November.
