To represent the interests of members and the wider community, the LIV actively seeks to influence policy and legislation through lobbying and submissions to government, the courts and other bodies.

LIV CEO Michael Brett Young welcomed attendees to the LIV’s Breakfast Matters event featuring keynote speaker Rod Sims, the new chair of the ACCC.

IACP forum

Ms Counsel attended the 12th annual networking and educational forum held by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) in San Francisco.


Ms Counsel attended the 24th LAWASIA Conference in Seoul. LAWASIA is the law association for Asia and the Pacific.

LIV Family Law Conference

Ms Counsel opened the LIV Family Law Conference at the RACV Club. She spoke about the upcoming report of the Protecting Victoria’s Vulnerable Children Inquiry.

Monash graduation

Ms Counsel delivered the graduation address to law graduates of 2011 at Monash University.

Susan Campbell AM

Ms Counsel and Mr Brett Young attended an LIV luncheon in honour of the late legal educator Susan Campbell AM. Ms Counsel hosted the event.

Women in Leadership
