Journalist and law graduate Amy Lally has been appointed as the Law Institute’s new media adviser.

Ms Lally began in the role on 31 May and comes to the Institute with a wealth of media experience.

She was a journalist at the Geelong Advertiser newspaper and ran the external newsroom for media monitoring agency Rehame.

She was also the producer for Phil Cleary’s radio program at 3AK and holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Deakin University.

Ms Lally said the media adviser position provided a unique opportunity to contribute to enhancing the public profile of the Institute and its members.

“In recent years the Institute has established itself as an informative legal commentator on state and federal issues.

“Strong government lobbying has resulted in influencing public policy and defending the rule of law,” Ms Lally said.

“A key priority will be to continue and further develop these achievements.”

Ms Lally, who replaced Paul Conroy, will also be available to give media advice to Institute members.

She can be contacted on tel 9607 9373 or email alally@liv.asn.au.
