Government bookshop closes

Briefs

Cite as: July 2014 88 (07) LIJ, p.13

The Victorian Government Bookshop in Melbourne was due to close on 30 June. Established in 1986, the bookshop provided Victorian legislation, government publications, maps and local histories.

Advances in technology and online publishing opportunities have changed the way people find and use government publications. Many of the bookshop publications are now freely available for download from the websites of government departments and agencies, including authorised versions of state legislation via legislation.vic.gov.au.

A publications directory providing keyword search and categories at www.vic.gov.au/publications will direct bookshop customers to the online location of government publications.

For help accessing government publications, call the Victorian Government Contact Centre on 1300 366 356.
