Annotated Rules of Court 2019 – Volume 2: Magistrates' Court of Victoria

By Richard Cook

“Victoria is already served comprehensive books which relate to the practice and procedure of the State's Courts. But so detailed, unwieldy, and indeed expensive are those works that there appears to be a need for a book on procedure that contains the relevant legislation, that succinctly comments on the relevant principles, that is easily carried, and that is relatively inexpensive."

“Victoria is already served comprehensive books which relate to the practice and procedure of the State's Courts. But so detailed, unwieldy, and indeed expensive are those works that there appears to be a need for a book on procedure that contains the relevant legislation, that succinctly comments on the relevant principles, that is easily carried, and that is relatively inexpensive.

"The challenge to the author, of course, is to combine sufficient detail with the 'succinct comments' to make the work of value to the general practitioner as well as the student. Although this book is completely new, I hope it bears within it some of the qualities of the work Jacobs' County Court Practice which for almost ninety years provided a 'volume one', easy-to-manage guide book to the practice of the State's superior Courts.” – Richard Cook
