Ethics and Professional Practice

Practice Management (formerly the Practice Support Line): Ring for information regarding starting, managing and closing a legal practice, human resources, day to day practice issues and requirements and obligations under the Legal Profession Uniform Law.

Members Advisory Service: This members only service provides confidential advice and support to practising members in relation to complaints received against individual members or their practice, disciplinary matters involving the member, and partnership disputes. The service is funded for up to three billable hours per member.

Mediation and Meeting Rooms

The LIV offers mediation and meeting rooms centrally located in the CBD, where you can conduct meetings, seminars, client conferences and working breakfasts or lunches. There are ISDN lines in most rooms, plus presentation and fax facilities, a photocopier and a waiting lounge. Find out more.

Cyber Precedent and Cybersecurity Training Toolkit

Cyber Precedent is a cybersecurity website launched by the LCA, with the aim of helping strengthen the legal profession’s defence against online threats through the provision of a range of custom-designed resources. Cyber Precedent also includes a cybersecurity training toolkit developed by the LIV, which aims to help provide employers with resources for educating staff members in regards to cybersecurity risks.
