How to bluff your way through meetings
How to bluff your way through meetings

 YL 10 Aug 2015

At least once in your stellar career, you will find yourself under prepared for a meeting. Of course, your reason is quite plausible and nothing to do with laziness or procrastination! The trick to ensuring that you don’t look like you haven’t prepared is twofold: it is how you use the 15 minutes before the meeting and how you conduct yourself in the meeting.

A lawyer’s networking guide for dummies (that’s me)

06 Aug 2015

It’s confession time again – I’m not a good networker. In my role as a lawyer and LIV President, I need to network. But that doesn’t mean I’m good at it. I’m terrible at remembering names and feel awkward introducing myself to people. I am in awe of effective networkers. 30 Jul 2015

We lawyers pride ourselves on being the smartest people in the room – and there’s no better way to demonstrate this than trivia – am I right?

In preparation for the Young Lawyers Trivia Night, I’ve recently become addicted to Trivia Crack (don’t worry, it’s an app, not a substance). This week, I’ve decided to be the one asking the questions – because you always look smart asking the questions. So, I give you my ultimate legal trivia quiz!

My difficulty was being able to set aside my lawyer’s instinct to reality test everything: “But that’s not how it works in real life”!
