The easiest way to track your CPD

The easiest way to track your CPD

As another CPD year winds to a close, many lawyers find themselves searching through numerous records to ensure they have met all their CPD requirements before 31 March.

Developing professional skills and knowledge is essential, however it can be difficult to keep track of all the CPD points you’ve earned throughout the year. Fortunately, the LIV offers all members (excluding students) a free CPD tracker within their online LIV Profile.

Your personal CPD tracking page outlines all the CPD points you have earned with the LIV throughout the year. You also have the option to add extra CPD you may have completed online, or through another provider.

To access your free CPD tracker, simply click ‘Sign In’ at the top of the LIV website, click ‘Your Profile’ then ‘My Details’ and go to the CPD tab.

Lawyers with a current practising certificate are required to attain a minimum of 10 CPD points per year, including one unit in each of the following fields:

  • ethics and professional responsibility
  • practice management and business skills
  • professional skills
  • substantive law

Other requirements and exceptions, including pro rata calculations, can be found on the LIV website.

With everything else you have going on this time of year, don’t let tracking your CPD take up a big portion of your time. Use the LIV’s free CPD tracker to ensure you have met all your requirements and save your records in case of a future CPD audit.
