Practice Management Wellbeing Workplace

You spent years in university and law school, soaking up education and learning everything you could to help launch your career as a lawyer. In your first years of practice, you worked hard to build your skills by attending stimulating PD and getting practical experience with briefs and cases.

Lawyers who want to succeed constantly take on new challenges and strive to improve their practice. However, there is a limit to the amount of knowledge and experience you can attain organically. Sometimes, rather than trying to learn how to do something by yourself, it’s best to ask an expert.

Boutique firms and innovative practices are on the rise in the legal profession. If you’re interested in starting your own practice, there are many things you may not have thought of that will need to be considered, such as:

  • understanding your human resources requirements and how they will impact your daily work
  • managing the day-to-day requirements of running a practice
  • financial planning and considerations
  • complying with trust accounting requirements.

Many of the most critical aspects of building or managing a successful practice will be covered at the Practice Management Conference on 22 June. Registration is now open and you can choose from breakout sessions targeted at lawyers starting out in their own practice or looking into the option, and more advanced streams for established practitioners and looking for ways to grow. LIV members save $120 on the cost of registration.

Your main concern as a lawyer is being an expert in your area(s) of law and providing the best legal services you can. The business side of running a practice is crucial, but there is a wealth of exclusive support available to you as an LIV member so you don’t have to do it on your own.

As an LIV member, you have access to experts across key areas of practice support and management to provide assistance or point you in the right direction. Don’t hesitate to call and get the support you need.
