Invitation: meeting of the criminal law profession

Invitation: meeting of the criminal law profession

By LIV Criminal Law Section

The Executive Committee of the Criminal Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria has become seriously concerned about the wellbeing of professionals for whom the courts are a regular place of work. The impact of everyday pressures within our working environment upon professionals’ wellbeing across the whole of the criminal justice sector needs to be addressed.

Solicitors of the OPP, VLA, and private practitioners are invited to a “Meeting of the Profession” to pay tribute to dear colleagues who have recently passed. This is an opportunity for practitioners to share their experiences and to provide the Executive Committee with feedback about aspects of the system which are or are not working well.

This feedback will be used to inform a “Heads of Agency” meeting the Executive Committee is convening across the criminal justice sector to promote an environment that fosters the wellbeing of all of those working in the sector and ensure that our workplace is adequately resourced to support us all.

Where: CQ, 113 Queen Street, Melbourne
When: Tuesday 15 May 2018 4 – 5.30pm, light refreshments to follow
Cost: free
Who: Members and Non-members of the Criminal Law Section, OPP, VLA, private practitioners
