The LIV welcomes the appointment of Fiona McLeay as the new Victorian Legal Services Board CEO and Victorian Legal Services Commissioner.

Fiona McLeay is a solicitor who was formerly a special counsel at Clayton Utz and is currently the CEO of Justice Connect, an organisation committed to making justice accessible to the most disadvantaged Victorians.

She has a long record of working in the social justice sector, including as deputy chair of the Advisory Board to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission, chair of Health Justice Australia and a director of the Human Rights Law Centre.

LIV president Belinda Wilson said the LIV was looking forward to working closely with Ms McLeay in her new position regulating the legal profession in Victoria and managing and responding to complaints against lawyers.

“The Legal Services Board plays an important role in ensuring that the legal profession operates with integrity, transparency and accountability in Victoria, and Fiona’s services to public law and access to justice make her an excellent choice in fulfilling this role.”
