Nominations are OPEN for the 2018 LIV Council elections

By LIV President Belinda Wilson

Don’t miss your chance to nominate for the LIV Council and make your voice heard!

The LIV is proud to be the official voice of the Victorian legal profession and community. To continue to grow that voice we need a professional board with a unified commitment to the future development of the profession. Over the next few weeks we are encouraging our members to nominate for and vote in the LIV Council election.

The LIV Council election is held each year and in 2019 seven directors’ positions are open. Directors elected to LIV Council represent the LIV’s 19,000 plus members. It goes without saying that being a director is a privileged and influential position – and also one of great responsibility. The LIV Council is responsible for overseeing and governing the LIV and developing and implementing long-term strategy and performance. Directors, alongside committees and sections, also help shape the LIV’s position on important legal and community issues and steer the LIV’s advocacy projects.

To be eligible to nominate you must be a full financial member, hold a current Australian practising certificate and agree by declaration that you are a fit and proper person and not disqualified from being a director. Now is your chance to put yourself forward for a seat at the table and help shape the Victorian legal landscape!

Make sure your voice is heard. Please have your say so we can maintain and grow our vibrant profession into the future.
