Vulnerable children need advocates

Don’t let the funding stop for specialist Aboriginal Children’s Legal Service Balit Ngulu. Recently, we have seen distressing footage of immigrant children crying at being separated from their parents at the US border by new immigration policy. I had to mute the audio when it came on a second time. Much media attention has been paid to this breach of human rights to the smallest and most vulnerable humans: children. I’ll admit I was jealous of the media attention because in Victoria we have hundreds of Aboriginal children crying at being separated from their parents. But we don’t hear about that.  The statistics paint a tragic picture.
