Harnessing student power

Harnessing student power

Justice Practice & Procedure

Partnering with students can be rewarding for NFPs. Community lawyers and not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) are constantly stretched to meet expanding demand for services. With increasing budget pressure and a $200 million shortfall in access to justice funding, lawyers and NFPs must find innovative ways to use their resources efficiently. One way to innovate is to apply the knowledge and passion of university students to complex access to justice problems. Working with the Centre for Innovative Justice, three entrepreneurs applied design thinking to solving problems with the Victorian infringements system and the results were astounding.
