Louise Akenson has been selected to fill a casual vacancy on LIV Council until December 2016. 

Ms Akenson has been a member of the LIV for approximately 20 years. She has considerable experience in the legal assistance and government sectors, having worked for a range of government departments and Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) during this time.

In her work for government departments and VLA she has covered criminal law, family and child protection law and administrative law. 

Ms Akenson is the current chair of the LIV Government Lawyers Section and was awarded a Certificate of Service in 2012.
