Law Institute of Victoria recognises 32 new Accredited Specialists

The Law Institute of Victoria and the Specialisation Board have recognised 32 lawyers who have achieved Accredited Specialisation across seven areas of law.

Accredited Specialists undertake rigorous training and assessment to attain a higher level of competence and specialist skills.

LIV President Stuart Webb said the program, now in its 30th year, included over 1100 Accredited Specialists.

“These lawyers have shown commitment and dedication to further develop their skills and competence in their chosen area of law,” he said.

The specialists will be acknowledged at a ceremony this evening. They are:

This year almost 70 per cent of specialists are female, and they make up 45 per cent of specialists overall.

One of this year’s specialists, Yianni Kordos, now joins his father Bill Kordos as a specialist in family law.

And Daniel Prior who obtained accreditation in Property Law this year is the son of Rosemary Prior who is a Wills & Estates Law Accredited Specialist, both are at Prior Law.
