The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) has provided feedback to the Victorian Government's consultation on the Mandatory Reporting of Animal Fate Data in shelters and pounds.

The LIV's submission makes recommendations to increase the types of data reported by shelters and pounds, as well as the frequency of data reporting to better inform government and stakeholders interested in pet welfare.

The LIV notes the importance of not administratively burdening shelters and pounds, and that proper resourcing is integral to improving pet welfare.
