The LIV supports amendments to Freedom of Information legislation ensuring open government and transparency

The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) has in a submission to the Law Council of Australia (LCA) provided comments and concerns regarding amendments in the Freedom of Information  Legislation  Amendment  (Improving  Access  and  Transparency)  Bill  2018.

The LIV's submission is broadly supportive of measures aiming to improve the effectiveness of Australia's Freedom of Information laws. However, the submission notes some concerns focussed on ensuring open government and transparency.
