Perks of an LIV accredited specialist

Perks of an LIV accredited specialist

By Sam Vasaiwalla

Divina Moodley is an associate at Zaparas Lawyers and an LIV accredited specialist in personal injury law. She has experience in workers’ compensation, transport accident compensation, public liability law and litigation. She talked to the YLJ about the benefits of accreditation. Why did you choose to become an LIV accredited specialist? I find personal injury law very interesting and specialisation appealed to me because I could increase my knowledge base in an area that I have worked in over the years. The specialisation encompasses a wide range of compensation laws such as workers’ compensation, transport accident compensation, public liability and civil procedure. What are the benefits of becoming an LIV accredited specialist? By becoming a specialist in your chosen area of law, you are setting yourself apart in the profession. I have not only learned so much in what is a large area of the law, but I also feel I have become more confident in my own knowledge of the law and how it applies in various circumstances. This helps me navigate through the individual circumstances that each of my clients has experienced. By heading down the road of specialisation, I have also established personal connections and professional networks through study groups.
