EDITORIAL > An international perspective

By Adam Wakeling & Andrea de Souza

The Young Lawyers Journal (YLJ) is starting the year by broadening its horizons. The autumn 2017 edition has an international theme, recognising that the Australian legal profession has deep and complex international connections. It includes substantive law articles discussing international child abduction, cybersecurity and Antarctica, profiles of lawyers who have worked for international organisations, and advice for graduates and young lawyers looking to become more involved in international work. Whether you dream of working at the United Nations or of a clerkship at an international firm in Melbourne, this edition will have something for you. Goals for 2017. The YLJ aims to reach a broad audience and include meaningful content for all our members – from small to top tier firms and in-house counsel, from students in their first year to fifth year lawyers aiming for the partner track and later lawyers pursuing law as a second career, from suburban and regional Victoria to the Paris end of Collins Street. We can only achieve this with your help. Join the Editorial Committee or email us to tell us what you want to read and how best to reach out to you at younglaw@liv.asn.au. The LIV is your association and the YLJ is your journal.
