For lawyers Rowan Kendall and Amelia Edwards further study has boosted career opportunities. In the changing world of work, up-skilling is recognised as a key component of career success. Further study offers professionals the opportunity to take their careers to the next level. Rowan Kendall is an associate at Baker McKenzie, currently working in the energy, mining and infrastructure team in Myanmar. He decided to pursue further study and enrol in the Master of Competition and Consumer Law because he is working towards becoming a competition law expert, with the support of Baker McKenzie. “For me, this course is very important, especially in developing my personal brand and adding strings to my bow to make me more competitive in the market,” Mr Kendall says. “The masters has been great because it has allowed me to take a defined step towards becoming a competition law specialist.” For Mr Kendall, pursuing diverse career opportunities overseas (in London, and now Yangon) has been no barrier to completing the Melbourne Law Masters.
