If you have been practising law for a few years it may be time for you to pursue a leadership role at your firm. You will need solid leadership skills to succeed. What do leadership skills look like and how can you develop them? Here are some tried and true methods that you can implement in your own career. Bring ideas to the table. If you have been working with the same company for a while, you doubtless have ideas on how things could improve. Take the initiative and share them. This could mean putting together a proposal, or it could be a simple matter of saying “How about we . . .” when your manager asks for ideas.
