Firms delivering one of 9 designated service from 1 July 2026 are required to enrol with AUSTRAC no later than 28 days after delivering that service (e.g. 29 July 2026). Several practitioners have expressed challenges with completing the AUSTRAC enrolment process, with key issues including: confusing enrolment with registration, misunderstanding key terms and answering questions incorrectly or in a way that invites more regulatory scrutiny that is needed.
In this next instalment of the LIVe Chat, we will do a practical walkthrough of the AUSTRAC enrolment process and form with a focus on Sole Practitioners, including the difference between enrolment and registration, the meaning of key terms and step-by-step guidance on how to setup an account and what questions will be asked. By the end of the session practioners should be able to complete or submit their AUSTRAC enrolment.
