Uniform Law - Common questions

Yesterday was Victoria Day – the 164th anniversary of Victoria becoming a separate colony to New South Wales. We celebrated the event by inaugurating a new Governor – Her Excellency Linda Dessau AM. Ironically, the day of separation was also the day of unification for the legal profession, with the commencement of the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2014 (Vic) (Uniform Law), which marks the beginning of a common legal services market for lawyers in Victoria and New South Wales.
