03 Dec 2015

There's no denying it – the end of the year is upon us. The end of year parties have started, clients want things done by Christmas and the chance for one more coffee catch up with a colleague has been replaced with a friendly “if I don't see you, have a great break!”

Cool Legal Spaces and Places

18 Nov 2015

I recently visited a number of legal innovators in the US. One of the things that struck me was that the interesting people I met all worked in interesting spaces. It reminded me of the importance of place. The way places are designed and work says something about a group's culture and values, and provides a sense of belonging.

The changing face of the legal profession

12 Nov 2015

Sony stopped making Betamax video tapes this week. Until I heard the news, I hadn't realised that Sony still made them, some three decades after VHS won the video wars of the 1980s. But it turns out that some people continued to use Betamax up until 13 years ago when Sony stopped making the recorders and then this week when they stopped making the cassettes.
