    • 9:30 AM Opening and Welcome
    • 9:35 AM Communicating in Conflict

Let’s face it – we all have moments in our work and personal lives when we need to communicate during conflict. Whether it is dealing with unhappy clients, difficult opponents, or colleagues at work, being able to effectively communicate during conflict is a crucial skill.

Conflict in our work and personal lives is inevitable. Yet most of us have never had any skills training in effective communication for conflict resolution. We expect to learn on the job or find ourselves communicating in a way that inadvertently escalates conflict.

What if you were armed with effective communication strategies that you could use every time conflict surfaced in your life? What if you had simple, proven skills you could utilise in difficult conversations?

This essential webinar will teach you:

      • proven skills for effectively communicating during conflict
      • what NOT to say or do during conflictual conversations
      • a practical 5-step process for having difficult conversations
      • simple, effective tips for responding to negative written communication
      • how to manage your own emotions during conflict

You will leave this session with a new awareness of constructive communication and practical strategies you can immediately apply to master effective communication.

      Compliance Area: Professional Skills

    • 10:35 AM Optimising Existing Technology with Office 365

The pandemic has driven technology uptake at an unbelievable rate among the legal profession, whether it’s for remote working, servicing clients, managing a team or interacting with the courts. As we head into the new normal, technology will be integrated into daily practice. However, having access to technology is not enough and what’s important is knowing how to harness it to make it work for you. In this session, you will receive practical tech tips on how you can maximise the technology you currently have to drive efficiency and improve workflow to give your practice the modern touch.

Compliance Area: Practice Management & Business Skills

Presenter: Matthew Keath, Technology Business Mediator

    • 11:35 AM Break
    • 11:45 AM Ethics in Practice

The LIV’s Special Counsel Ethics will facilitate a highly interactive workshop discussion with attendees considering a selection of challenging ethical issues which can arise in the course of daily work within a legal practice, especially in light of the year that was 2020. These will be illustrated through the use of de-identified, real-life scenarios and interactive digital tools.
