The Family Court and the Federal Circuit Court introduced a fast track list on the 29th April 2020 to deal with urgent parenting disputes that have arisen due to the COVID-19 Pandemic in response to a 39% increase in Family Court and a 23% increase in Federal Circuit Court urgent applications.

Parties are still expected to attend Family Dispute Resolution prior to applying to the Courts if it is safe and appropriate to do so. Families with property settlement disputes are experiencing similar pressures with job insecurity, property market and business instability and share market volatility affecting asset pools and agreements.
