1. Opening of the legal year service

2. Leaders take to the street

On 3 February, Herbert Smith Freehills global head of corporate Mike Ferraro sold copies of The Big Issue alongside vendor Deb as part of International Street Paper Vendor Week which coincided with the magazine’s 450th edition. More than 70 CEOs and business leaders around Australia sold the magazine to help raise awareness of the homeless and disadvantaged people who sell street papers around the world.

3. Legal laneway breakfast

 

More than 400 people from across the legal community attended the annual Legal Laneway Breakfast in Hardware Lane on 5 February. 4. Welcome Justice Jack Rush

Captain Jack Rush was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria on 26 November 2013. Justice Rush, who has been a Navy Reserves lawyer since 1982, was also awarded a Chief of Navy Gold Commendation in the same week he was appointed to the Supreme Court. Victorian Bar chair Will Alstergren, Chief Justice Marilyn Warren and Justice Jack Rush are pictured with Royal Australian Navy officers Joseph Lindsay, Katherine Richards and Scott Ritchie.
