    Find additional information on:

  • Have there been changes to CPD compliance requirements due to COVID-19?

For the 2021/22 practising years the cap on private study of 5 hours has been reinstated. This cap had been removed for the 2019/20 and 2020/22 practising years due to face-to-face CPD events being cancelled and the need to practise social distancing and/or working remotely due to COVID-19.

See the VLSB+C website for additional information on continuing professional development obligations.

  • How can I keep track of CPD points accrued through the LIV?

LIV members can keep track of CPD points with the LIV’s free online tracker tool, which is accessible through your MY LIV profile. For your convenience, CPD units accrued via live LIV CPD education activities are automatically added to your My CPD Record and can be relied on as evidence of participation. This online record can also be used to record non-LIV CPD activities, however evidence in support of those activities needs to be retained separately.

Please note: This service applies to live professional development, such as Zoom webinars and face-to-face sessions. CPD points accrued through on-demand videos and other legal education products are not automatically added to your CPD record.

CPD activities are self-assessed. Compliance area(s) indicated on the LIV website and in corresponding reading material are intended to serve as a guide only.

  • What is the LIV doing to ensure its CPD program is COVID-safe?

LIV professional development has successfully run through Zoom since March 2020. Our virtual professional development is designed to encourage participant interaction utilising polls, Q&As and virtual breakout rooms.
